STEVE VAI’S FAVORED NATIONS/JIBBOOM SIGNS LA GUNS

Sunset Strip Legends L.A. GUNS Signs to Favored Nations/Jibboom Label, a Division of Steve Vai’s Favored Nations Entertainment
Los Angeles, CA, February 5, 2010: Hard rock band, and Sunset Strip legends, L.A. GUNS recently signed to the Steve Vai-owned label Favored Nations/Jibboom, which is Favored Nations Entertainment’s Rock/Metal division. This division stands separate from Favored Nations Entertainment and will be the label’s home for all things hard rock and metal. Favored Nations/Jibboom will be re-issuing the 1999 L.A. GUNS album Shrinking Violet. The album will be completely repackaged with new artwork and five brand new, never-before-heard, live bonus tracks. It will be released in late May 2010.

The Favored Nations/Jibboom label was born when Vai brought in industry veteran Dean Schachtel as General Manager of Favored Nations Entertainment over a year ago. Schachtel oversees all aspects of the label and reports directly to Vai and, with his hard rock/metal background, it made sense to start the Favored Nations/Jibboom division. “When Steve mentioned to me that he wanted to start a hard rock and metal division, I knew I was the right guy for the job. Having grown up in Los Angeles, I had the pleasure of seeing a lot of these bands in their early incarnations. I’m a huge hard rock and metal fan myself – my son’s godfather is Ronnie James Dio – so, naturally, I’m thrilled to be working with Tracii and L.A. GUNS,” said Schachtel.

Favored Nations Entertainment has a number of sub-labels and different divisions including Favored Nations Acoustic, home to Tommy Emmanuel, widely considered one of the greatest acoustic players in the world. There is also Favored Nations, a division with many world class musicians including Vai, Billy Sheehan, Neal Schon, Eric Sardinas, Johnny A and a new studio CD from the Yardbirds featuring Vai, Jeff Beck, Joe Satriani, Slash, Brain May, and Johnny Rzeznik from The Goo Goo Dolls. There is also a Jazz imprint called Favored Nations Cool and a new digital division called Digital Nations which offers both baby bands and established acts a home for new material that is sold around the world, but strictly digital. A recent addition to the Digital Nations label is Winger-frontman Kip Winger who will be partnering with the label on the worldwide digital release of his classical album Ghosts.

Favored Nations/Jibboom is also pleased to announce another exciting partnership with comedian Jim Florentine, co-host, along with Eddie Trunk and Don Jamieson, of VH1 Classic’s That Metal Show. Florentine is perhaps best known for his characters Special Ed and Bobby Fletcher on Comedy Central’s cult-favorite TV show Crank Yankers. He tours the country regularly performing stand up comedy and is often a guest on the Howard Stern Show. Favored Nations/Jibboom will release Florentine’s Terrorizing Telemarketers Vol. 5 which will include five bonus tracks and is due out in July 2010. Florentine has previously released Terrorizing Telemarketers Volumes 1-4, all of which are tour bus favorites for many of today’s metal bands such as Slipknot and Anvil.

FLOOR JANSEN: SIGNS WITH NUCLEAR BLAST FOR HER NEW BAND ‘REVAMP’!

The end of something can become a start for new adventures! For Floor Jansen the final stop of After Forever didn’t mean the end of her career, nor for her cooperation with Nuclear Blast!
After the break of After Forever singer Floor Jansen soon decided she wanted to start over and present a new band to the public. To accomplish this she joined forces with two additional songwriters to compose new songs for her new baby called ReVamp. “I am happy to announce this good news! Nuclear Blast has done many great things for After Forever and I am positive they can work their magic on ‘ReVamp’ as well! It’s heartwarming how they stand behind me and my new band!”, says Floor, who did five longplayers with After Forever, whos last self-titled album entered the Top 10 in their dutch mothercountry.

Together with Waldemar Sorychta and her former After Forever colleague Joost van den Broek, the songwriting team was completed and the work on on the first ReVamp album, which will be released on the 4th of June 2010, started.

The ReVamp sound will become a unique blend of the personal style we will recognize from these musicians. Combining these individual sounds in one album promises to result in heavy and very metal! Nuclear Blast A&R manager Jaap Wagemaker is very happy about the trust of Floor and ReVamp: „We are stoked to announce that ReVamp, the new band of Floor Jansen,the voice of After Forever has inked a deal with the label. After the split of After Forever, Floor has taken her time to find the right musicians for her new outfit and now she is ready to continue where she left of. BONDED BY BLOOD: ISSUES STUDIO UPDATE

Pomona, CA thrashers, BONDED BY BLOOD recently began recording the long-awaited follow-up to their 2008 debut, FEED THE BEAST. The band has set up camp in Phoenix, AZ to record their new album at Highland Recorders with producer, Ralph Patlan (WHITE WIZZARD, MEGADETH, UFO).

The band has been keeping a regular studio blog on their MySpace page and posted a update on the 9th about what they've been recording:

"Today is day 4 and have a day off today after couple days of hard work. Began tracking rhythm tracks last night and will go back into the studio tomorrow morning to finish them up. Everything seems to be coming out really well. Look out for more updates on the album, more pictures and footage coming soon."

WORLD UNDER BLOOD: SIGNS WITH NUCLEAR BLAST

WORLD UNDER BLOOD, the melodic death metal side project featuring CKY guitarist/vocalist Deron Miller alongside Tim Yeung (DIVINE HERESY, ex-HATE ETERNAL) on drums, Risha Eryavec (ex-DECREPIT BIRTH) on bass, and Luke Jaeger (ex-SLEEP TERROR) on guitar, have officially signed to Nuclear Blast Records!
