STRYPER: TOUR IN APRIL

Just Say Rock are excited to announce the return of Stryper, who will be bringing their 25th Anniversary Tour to Australia! After a quarter century of unprecedented success, the righteous rockers known as Stryper have found a way to keep their high-voltage sonic fire burning. No greater evidence exists than the band's latest studio project and 10th career disc, Murder by Pride.

Without question, Murder by Pride represents a resounding return to form for Stryper. The 12-track album is replete with smouldering dual guitars, euphoric harmonies and sing-along anthems worthy of playing full-volume with windows wide open.

Looking back over the last 25 years, Stryper is considered a groundbreaking act by all accounts. Since the band's label debut in 1984, the quartet has sold more than 8 million albums worldwide. The first Christian rock band to enjoy decided success in the mainstream market, Stryper's RIAA certified platinum 1986 magnum opus To Hell with the Devil is listed among the "100 Greatest Albums in Christian Music" as designated by CCM Magazine. The band's popular power ballad "Honestly" became a Billboard Top 40 hit, peaking at #23.

In conjunction with the latest release, Stryper will be heading to Australia as part of their 25th anniversary celebrations. The tour will feature greatest hits performed by all the original band members including: Michael Sweet (lead vocals, rhythm guitar); Robert Sweet (drums); Oz Fox (lead guitar); and Tim Gaines (bass) as well as newer selections with bassist Tracy Ferrie.

One of the most mesmerizing stage acts still today, Stryper received tremendous exposure on television's MTV and VH1, paving the way for more faith-fueled bands to be considered for airplay. So come and celebrate 25 years of Stryper as they head our way in April 2010!!

ORDER OF ENNEAD: FINISH RECORDING, REVEAL ALBUM TITLE

Floridian extreme metallers ORDER OF ENNEAD have finished recording their second album. The band have set AN EXAMINATION OF BEING as the title for the new album.

AN EXAMINATION OF BEING was recorded at Audio Hammer Studios in Sanford, Florida with producer Mark Lewis (TRIVIUM, CHIMAIRA, ALL THAT REMAINS), who also produced ORDER OF ENNEAD's eponymous 2008 self-titled debut.

ORDER OF ENNEAD lead guitarist John Li comments:
"So what can I say about this new album? In my honest opinion, it's much heavier and darker than our self-titled debut, more cohesive, thematic, melodic, but not completely over the top. In a nutshell, the works. To me, the songs sound totally different than the demos and I was blown away after the songs began to take form. They sound BIG.

"The recording process went as smooth as ever and the results werespectacular, due in part to the genius of our producer/engineer Mark Lewis. He's got an ear like a bat and can spot an out of tune guitar a mile away; a real no-bullshit kind of guy who can really get it done in there.
"Kev's guitars sound heavy as hell, Steve's drums are tight and powerful, and I must say at the risk of tooting my own horn, I played some great stuff as well (shameless, I know)."

EVILE: ANNOUNCE NEW BASSIST

British thrashers EVILE have revealed the identity of their new bassist, who joins the band following the tragic and untimely death of their late bassist, Mike Alexander.

Mike Alexander passed away on October 5th, 2009 while the band was on tour in Sweden.

EVILE members Matt Drake, Ol Drake and Ben Carter have released the following statement:
"This has been one of the most bizarre and surreal tasks we've ever had to undertake. It isn't like Mike has decided to leave the band and we're simply finding a new bass player, he was taken from us, and we were forced to replace him. In effect we had to look for a new Mike, but that would never happen. He was one of a kind, and we'll never forget him.

"We had hundreds upon hundreds of emails from bass players from around the world (though we can only realistically have a bassist from the UK), and we want to thank everyone for taking the time out to contact us, and the people who came to jam with us. We only had a certain amount of time to actually audition/jam with bass players before the upcoming tours, to get time in for rehearsing the songs, getting visas sorted etc.

"Our new bass player goes by the name Joel Graham. He's an excellent, experienced bass player, and a really nice guy. We'd all appreciate it if you gave him a warm welcome to the band, as this must be a bizarre situation for him to be in also. We'll be getting some photos taken with him soon so you can see us with Joel, we just wanted to get the news out there that we have a new bassist, and that we thank each and every person for auditioning. Mike would be honoured at the amount of respect and admiration you expressed to us through contacting us."

MISERY INDEX: PREPARE TO ENTER THE STUDIO

MISERY INDEX has spent their recent time away from the road writing for their follow-up album to 2008’s Traitors. The band will begin recording in early January with engineer Steve Wright at Wright Way Studios (DYING FETUS, SLIPKNOT, MOS DEF). The album’s tentative title is Heirs To Thievery and advance song titles include “Embracing Extinction”, “Heirs To Thievery”, “Fed To The Wolves”, and “Sleeping Giants”. A May 2010 release date is expected.

MISERY INDEX’s Jason Netherton commented on the album’s lyrical theme via his Demockery blog: “The thread that binds several songs lyrically surrounds ideas of hidden history, how we interpret our nation, and our idea of who we are culturally and collectively, as it is generally handed down to us in terms of icons, wars, struggles and triumph.”

MISERY INDEX will be touring Australia in April along with DECAPITATED, PSYCROPTIC, and ORIGIN. Check the side bar for dates

ARSIS: NEW SONG ONLINE

Virginia based tech melodic deathsters ARSIS just uploaded another brand new song to their MySpace profile www.myspace.com/arsis
Forced To Rock“ comes off the bands new album "Starve For The Devil“ due on February 5

Mainman James Malone: „"How can I better the world?" This is the question that I asked myself when writing "Forced to rock." I eventually came to the conclusion that the death metal world needed an anthem. Sure, it may not be the cure for cancer, but it is fun and fun is something that I feel is lacking in a lot of the music out there today. It's music, it's not saving lives; there is no reason to be serious 100% of the time. Tongue in ceeck or foot in mouth; I am probably not the proper authority to comment on the matter.“

IMMOLATION: REVEAL COVER ARTWORK

New York death metal legends IMMOLATION just revealed the cover artwork for their upcoming 8th album "Majesty And Decay“

Commented guitarist Bob Vigna: „Par Olofsson did an amazing job on this piece! It is so dark, twisted and bleak, and so realistic looking! He really captured the emotion of the album and what we were looking for. Together with the music it really sets such a unique mood and tone,...I think the fans are going to love it!“

MNEMIC: SONS OF THE SYSTEM
Nuclear Blast

MNEMIC is not, never was and never will be a band that is easy to categorize within the genres of metal – no wonder this Danish quintett managed to create their own genre from day one.

Nevertheless, MNEMIC have always been a hard working band since their fantastic debut, „Mechanical Spin Phenomena“, back in 2003 which created waves among bands such as Deftones, Machine Head & Fear Factory that later brought the band as main support on countless tours. After their second successfull effort, „The Audio Injected Soul“, in 2004, saw the band open Roskilde' Orange Stage, MTV's Rock Am Ring / Rock Im Park, and many other successful festivals, MNEMIC had to suffer the departure of singer Michael Bogballe, who was replaced by an even more powerful front figure – Guillaume Bideau, who left his former band SCARVE right during the recordings for a new album to fully concentrate on MNEMIC, contributed a lot to what MNEMIC is today with his stunning varied vocal abilities.

Their ways also lead them to being declared as „one of METALLICAs favourite bands“ supporting them on countless European shows, even having their bass player Rob Trujillo saying "I go through these real technical phases, and I listen to bands like MESHUGGAH and MNEMIC. It's stuff that's a little bit complex and takes a lot of patience.“!

MNEMIC's newest output shows a complete new band. A new band that did by far not forget its roots. „Sons Of The System“ still shows the trademark sound that MNEMIC got famous for but also giving the listener a fair amount of incredible riffing, groove laden modern metal masterpieces with a progressive edge and a new born feeling for melody.
A mixture like that molten with a just sensational merciless powerful production (by the band itself and legendary Tue Madsen) results in what you are now about to hear: A very eclectic album, with melodic passages forged as the soundtrack to a steampunk molded world – all new – all stunning – all devastating!

„ This is a new band, with a new album written straight from the heart. It reflects our artistic angle and inspirations which are drawn from steampunk art and sci-fi genres, where the music as we interpret it, is theatrical, electronic and eclectic, forged to sound as the soundtrack to a dystopian future. This is our metal-polyrhythmic version of GOD IS AN ASTRONAUT and MUSE, spiced up by the lethal audio injection you know as, MNEMIC.“

MUSTASCH: MUSTASCH
Nuclear Blast

Actually, the album title says it all: MUSTASCH. Simple, straight forward and without compromise, according to singer and band-leader Ralf Gyllenhammar’s vision. It’s an impressive CV the band has achieved: five albums, a huge hit with ”Double Nature”, sold-out tours in Scandinavia, opening- and headline tours with MOTÖRHEAD, GLUECIFER and cult band ROSE TATTOO in Europe, three Swedish Grammy Nominations and a Grammy Award for ”Metal of the Year” in 2008.

After all this, the band reached a turning point. Full speed ahead focusing on the band or nothing at all. No half-hearted solutions, no compromises. All or nothing. "That’s the way I work as a person", Ralf explains. "Drunk or sober, angry or happy, all or nothing. There are no in-betweens in my world." The result of bringing matters to a head was seeing two original members – guitarist Hannes Hansson and drummer Mats Hansson – choose to leave MUSTASCH, despite the success. Following a run of temporary substitutes the band landed in a line-up where Ralf was joined by fellow founding member Mats Johansson on bass as well as new guitarist David Johannesson and drummer Danne McKenzie. MUSTASCH Mk II entered the Bohus Sound Studios to record with producer Tobias Lindell (production credits include Europe, A-Teens etc).

The resulting album focuses on an equal strength in the individual songs. Where earlier works have had to factor in the opinions of different members – or sometimes complete lack of will to play certain songs, the end-result was patchy as a direct consequence. "The previous records have had three or four really good songs, the rest became filler material to meet everyones wishes. This time we felt like an even album was the step to take – and that meant it was my route we had to take. Today we have established that I am the boss of the band, and everyone is happy in their role here", says vocalist Ralf. The choice of Tobias Lindell came after the band visited the studio with previous producer Roberto Laghi. Tobias’ head-strong approach to experimenting and working in a non-conventional way was decisive in the band`s choice of people to work with in the studio.

The song-writing for ”Mustasch” has been unusually painless, for which Ralf credits the new members and the new band order. Today he’s free to write as he finds best, follow his instinct and above all: focus on the best songs – not the songs the other members want to play.
All or nothing. - Nothing else will do. ”Mustasch” is the evidence of that.

VALKYRJA: CONTAMINATION
Metal Blade

VALKYRJA were formed in 2004 and immediately started working on writing original material. In March of 2005 the first offering was crafted under the title ‘Funeral Voices’, a vicious 5-track presenting a fierce and relentless preview of uncompromising brutal BLACK METAL.

‘Funeral Voices’ got re-released under a new title – ‘Far Beyond’ - on cassette via Deathkrush Productions in September of the same year, including an additional 5-track studio session on the B-side.

The debut album ‘The Invocation Of Demise’ was recorded at Necromorbus Studio in March and April of 2007 and unleashed upon mankind in September via Northern Silence Productions (CD/LP). By the end of the year VALKYRJA signed a multiple album deal with Metal Blade Records. The band sees the work with these allies as an opportunity to spread their crafts even further and on a larger scale. The Swedes have thus far already marked both studio and live performances with a brutal and aggressive signet, leaving no-one unaware of what the band can deliver. Territories stand not yet ravished by the plague and famine that is VALKYRJA, a fact this collaboration will change - a seal in Blood, Fire and Death.

In early 2009 the band began writing and rehearsing new songs for their second full-length, CONTAMINATION!
