A few weeks ago we mentioned that Australia's Hardest Rocking band 'The Poor' had reformed and are back to show these young up and coming bands just how to rock. Well, Round 1 is released on October 19 and will no doubt have those little Wolf's and the like running for cover!

There is once again just too much happening in this edition of The Act to discuss it all so, it shall do it all for me!

THE POOR “ROUND 1”
Round 1 is a collection of tracks recorded from 2000 – 2009 along with a few older demo recordings that never saw the light of day.
In 1999/2000 the band spent nearly 4 months in the late BILLY THORPE'S Electric Mountain studio in Sydney along with Engineer Greg Clarke where they recorded over a dozen tracks. in which Some of these have made their way to the Weigh In for “ROUND 1” .

GOODBYE ..is a great song that was demo’d years ago and toyed with the idea or re recording this year but and although we wanted to focus strongly on new material not just re inventing older tracks, we thought it had to be heard.!!

CANT FEEL A THING.. Was a demo track that was intended for an EP between WHO CARES and the 2nd Album..that never happened.

“We wanted to make a big rock record that translates the same excitement I felt when I heard AC/DC’s Highway to Hell for the first time, combined with the dark intrigue of Alice Cooper’s Welcome to My Nightmare,” says Gen of the new release. “We wanted something that shakes the walls, grabs you by the balls, and scares you a bit in the process!”

Mission accomplished, as Blackheart Revolution combines the band’s signature, genre-bending style of aggressive rock, seductive metal and underground electric pop. “Over the last few months life has been a bit of a roller coaster ride here in the Sonic Syndicate camp but what a amazing ride it's been. With a new singer, two new songs, a brand new single and video called Burn This City which has received over 130,000 views on Youtube in just two short weeks we couldn't really ask for more.

When we released Burn This City we really had no idea what to expect from our fans. It's never easy to change your singer, write some new songs and keep your legion of fans completely happy especially when you only record two songs. When we entered the studio this time we had to try and give ourselves and our fans exactly what they deserve " two new great songs " but how do you introduce a new singer with just two new songs?

Stratovarius was founded in 1984 in Finland. Timo Tolkki became the driving force and mastermind of the band, assuming relatively complete control of the song-writing. He brought along not only strong rock influences, but also a neoclassical tinge.

After a string of highly successful releases, the band found the freedom to go into seclusion for almost a month in a cottage by the sea in a Finnish forest to relax, laugh, write songs, be creative together and record.
