Heaven and Hell

Few albums in the history of rock music enjoy as legendary a status as Black Sabbath’s Heaven And Hell from 1980. Experts consider the line-up of that time, featuring exceptional vocalist Ronnie James Dio, guitar icon Tony Iommi and bassist Geezer Butler, one of the best in the band’s chronicles, and especially the line “They say that life’s a carousel, spinning fast, you’ve got to ride it well, the world is full of Kings and Queens who blind your eyes and steal your dreams, it’s heaven and hell!” from the title track remains unforgotten to this day. For a number of weeks now, Dio, Iommi, Butler and drumming legend, Vinny Appice, have been back on stage together for the first time in 15 years, selling out the biggest venues in America’s major cities on a triumphal march of the States under the moniker of Heaven And Hell. March 30, 2007, will see Heaven And Hell record one of their shows at New York’s famous Radio City Music Hall. SPV have the European rights to this live cut and are set to release a DVD and live album featuring the recordings from the New York show this coming summer. Dio, Iommi & Co. are on everybody’s lips, not only overseas, the single lifted from their current Black Sabbath album, The Dio Years – a brand-new track entitled ‘The Devil Cried’ – having gone straight to the charts in numerous countries. According to witnesses, the recordings of The Dio Years went so well that the group spontaneously decided to fulfil their fans’ long-standing request for a reunion tour. The Heaven And Hell shows see the musicians perform numerous songs from all three Black Sabbath recordings featuring Ronnie James Dio, among them classics such as ‘Children Of The Sea’, ‘Lady Evil’, ‘Sign Of The Southern Cross’, ‘Heaven And Hell’ and ‘Neon Nights’. The tickets for the show at the Radio City Music Hall sold out within hours.
