“Never Say Never, Club Daze Vol. II” is the second in a set of two albums from an era when Twisted Sister molded and formed their image and sound in the NY/CT/NJ tri-state area back in the late 70‚s and early 80‚s. “Club Daze Vol. I” was subtitled the Studio Sessions and included a large selection of lost recordings from the that period of time. Club Daze Vol. II is subtitled “Live At The Bars” and includes original songs recorded live and never before released. But what is most extraordinary on this compilation of rarities are the albums two lead off tracks “Never Say Never” and “Blastin‚ Fast & Loud.” When Jay Jay French, Twisted’s founding member, got the rights to raid Atlantic Records recording vault, he came across two drum tracks on the original 24 track masters from the recording sessions of Twisted Sister‚s multi-platinum selling classic “Stay Hungry.” It seems that the producer of Stay Hungry labeled the album complete before these two songs were finished recording. Jay Jay, determined to identify these lost tracks, contacted the bands old tour manager who recorded all of Twisted‚s shows throughout the years. After reviewing the tapes from that era, they were able to identify the songs. He then contacted the entire line up from 1984 including vocalist Dee Snider, bassist Mark -The Animal‚ Mendoza, guitarist Eddie -Fingers‚ Ojeda, and drummer A.J. Pero to go back into the studio in 2001 and record these songs using the original drum tracks from 1984. Play it Loud, Mutha.
