| PURITY OF ESSENCE Fuelled by the many encouraging fan letters that arrived in the Quorthon den after the release of ALBUM, Quorthon decided to further explore the rockin’ side of himself and dig deeper into his personal musical roots of The Beatles and Sex Pistols among others. This time it was to be a double album, dubbed PURITY OF ESSENCE - a phrase taken from the dialogue in one of Quorthon’s favourite movies ”Dr.Strangelove”. Offering the fans no less than 23 tracks, the material scanned from melancholy acoustic stuff to powerful 90’s punk. Tracks such as ”I’ve Had It Coming My Way”, ”An Inch Above The Ground” and ”Coming Down In Pieces” are obvious highlights of the CD. Once again, Quorthon clearly paves sidewalks far from the bloodied alley of BATHORY, it nevertheless delivers two dozen much interesting and well-produced tracks. As it says in the opening track, Rock ’n roll !
